Foundation

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) Foundation is an aspect of the chamber committed to education.  Through the Adopt-a-School Program, Torrance area businesses have been partnered with Torrance Unified School District (TUSD) schools to help bridge the importance of education to the business community.  This program is intended for students at each school to see how businesses can help in promoting the resources needed for a complete education.

The Principal for a Day Program is a job-shadowing opportunity for business leaders to learn firsthand from TUSD principals the success stories and challenges facing the school and/or education.  It is an opportunity for the business and education communities to work together and collaborate on the conversation of workforce readiness to meet the needs of a strong, trained labor pool for businesses to hire.

A signature event put on by the Foundation is the State of Education luncheon that touches on the current status of education within our district and surrounding areas.  This is an opportunity to hear from keynote speakers on ideas to move education and business forward together as a collective unit.
