On Thursday, December 6, 2019, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce hosted 16 delegates from the Shaanxi Province in China, along with 8 students from Ambassador High School and Bishop Montgomery High School. Donna Duperron, President & CEO, shared about the Chamber’s mission and involvement in the community – both local and international. Melinda Taylor of Servatius, O’Brien & Fong, LLP and Roger Evans from DoubleTree by Hilton remarked how the Chamber assists business growth and professional networking. Mayor Pat Furey, City of Torrance, further highlighted the benefits that residents and business owners through the partnership with the Chamber and the City. Barry Waite facilitated a question and answer time with the aid of a Chinese interpreter. The Chinese delegation were presented individual certificates from the office of California Senator Ben Allen. This important event is a vivid demonstration of the Chamber’s mission to foster professional relationships centered on friendship, support, and progress whether locally or globally.
