As I visit businesses, one of the things I enjoy most is meeting employees. At Oakmont of Torrance, I was welcomed and immediately knew I was going to have an outstanding visit. Theresa Mack, Sales and Marketing Director formally welcomed me and escorted me to a leadership meeting that was in progress. Stacie Sheridan, Executive Director, invited me to share information about the chamber to those in attendance. Each member of the leadership team introduced themselves and spoke about their role at Oakmont.
Oakmont a recognized leader in the retirement community, strives to create an atmosphere of family and community among team members, residents and our residents’ family members,” stated Mack.
As I toured Oakmont, I enjoyed the Traditions Memory Care for residents in the later stages of dementia. The Traditions residents enjoy musical entertainment and active music making, exploring the arts, exciting excursions and small group gatherings that stimulate conversation and promote meaningful social connections. Residents were putting puzzles together, using interactive touchscreens and talking with one another as we walked through the area.
“Oakmont is the newest luxury senior living community in the South Bay. Our team of department heads and staff bring years of experience in senior living,” stated Sheridan. Oakmont residents enjoy indoor and outdoor restaurant-style dining, bar and lounge, movie theatre, full-service salon, fitness and wellness center, pet park, activity room, library and resident gardens and walking paths.
Social opportunities are continually being planned to include singing and music performances, happy hour, excursions to art galleries, attending the symphony, book club and themed parties.
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce thanks Oakmont of Torrance for being a valued member. Oakmont is located at 3620 Lomita Blvd., Torrance.
