1.  Where were you in your career right before joining Leadership Torrance?

I was encouraged to join Leadership Torrance (LT) by many of my colleagues at the Torrance-South Bay YMCA. We are a “legacy” organization who has participated almost every year!  I was the Director of Development and part of a small but mighty management team to make a positive impact in the community.  I joined LT2018 to broaden my network and learn from other leaders of various sized companies and industries.

2.  Where are you in your career and life now?

Leadership Torrance furthered my project management skills, my ability to identify strengths in others, and most importantly the value of working with partners in the community.  Through many meaningful connections, I was introduced to California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) where I currently serve as the Director of Development for the College of Business and College of Health, Human Services and Nursing. I’m proud to make an impact on the lives of thousands of students from the community and statewide.

3.  What insight or benefit of Leadership Torrance do you value most?

The value of collaboration. Our LT cohort of various and seemingly unrelated industries have come together multiple times since our LT year to find creative and mutually beneficial solutions.

4.  Anything else you would like to share?

Before my LT experience, like many others, I was very active in the community.  I was often a participant or volunteer in many community projects/events.  LT encouraged me to step up my involvement and taking more leadership roles.
