The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Torrance Fire Department Community Update on Thursday, June 2nd at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Torrance – South Bay. This event will highlight the departments five year strategic plan which will be presented by Torrance Fire Chief Martin Serna. Registration begins at 7:30 AM, with program and breakfast at 8:00 AM.

Jennifer Olvera of Green Hills Memorial Park has been a member of the Torrance Fire Committee since is inception. Olvera states “I am fortunate to work for a company that supports my community involvement, and this has allowed for Green Hills Memorial Park and the Torrance Fire Department to have a strong and long-lasting partnership. Growing up in Torrance with a Fire Department that has been recognized as a Class 1 Rating (the highest rating given to a Fire Department nationwide) provides a sense of security knowing that we are well taken care of.  Being a part of the Torrance Fire Department committee since its inception allows me the opportunity of saying thank you. Being able to give back in any form for all that they do is my “why” for wanting to be involved.”

Special presentations by: Craig Leach, President and Chief Executive Officer, Torrance Memorial Medical Center; Dr. Jorge Vournas, Medical Director, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance; Chief Jeffrey Baumunk, Director, Public Safety, El Camino College; and Dr. Tim Stowe, Superintendent, Torrance Unified School District.
