Business owners are always looking for new opportunities to network, meet other business owners, and expand their business network. Many businesses increase their exposure though their involvement with the Chamber. One great way to get involved with the Chamber is through our councils.

Councils play an important role in executing the Chamber’s vision by providing members with tools and opportunities they need to gain visibility, credibility, and profitability, monthly at no cost to Chamber members. Here are some great councils to get involved in:

  • Ambassadors Program: Ambassadors assist the Chamber with retention and membership by focusing on connecting with new members who have joined the Chamber, as well as serving as the goodwill arm of the Chamber. Ambassadors’ welcome members and assist the staff during events.
  • Military Affairs Council (MAC): The MAC functions as a liaison between the local military and business communities, implementing programs which provide greater interaction between Chamber members and DOD/military personnel.
  • Government Affairs Policy (GAP): Participate as a collective voice to promote business interests with government through legislative advocacy in support of policies that strengthen local commerce and the economy.
  • Small Business Council (SBC): SBC brings together small business members to discuss common issues and help identify how the Chamber can develop innovative and value-driven programs to meet their needs.
  • Women in Business Council (WBC): WBC provides a forum to engage with other members and build partnerships that not only increase business potential, but also creates lasting professionals and personal relationships.
  • Young Professionals Group (YPG): YPG provides meaningful, dynamic, engaging opportunities for networking and career development for young professionals ages 21-45.

“Being involved in the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is not only a rewarding and fun experience, but it’s a great way to meet business professionals to share ideas and network. From ribbon cuttings, networking lunch meetings and co-chairing the Young Professionals Program, the chamber offers me the opportunity to develop meaningful, professional relationships, acquire new business clients, and to better acquaint myself with the Torrance Community.” Ana Straser, Malaga Bank, AVP Retail Banking Manager.
