Holiday party attended by Torrance Mayor, Patrick Furey, and 12 ambassadors.

Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce ambassadors are an exclusive group of volunteers who work for Chamber member organizations, believe in the Chamber’s mission, support their community, and help with many of the Chamber’s activities and events.

“Being an ambassador helps Callas Rennsport be an active part of the Torrance community. We have been in Torrance for 30 years. The connections for networking are valuable, but welcoming new businesses and celebrating the growth of other Torrance businesses creates a supportive environment Callas Rennsport wants to help foster in the area, stated Chamber ambassador Sadie Durning.

This past Monday, ambassadors were welcomed to a holiday celebration by co-chair Marifrances Trivelli and co-chair Claudine Garcia. Ambassadors in attendance were Taylor Roll, Jonathan Anderson, Eric Smith, Tameika Smith, Charlotte Melsh, Stan Gray, Sadie Durning, Nadia Sandoval, Gesuina Lafayette, Gina Lee and Bill Coffey.

Throughout the year, ambassadors have an opportunity to not only represent and promote the Chamber, but to connect and engage with other members, local officials, and key business stakeholders, while also promoting their own business at Chamber events.

“One of the highlights of being a Chamber ambassador is getting to meet new Chamber members and learning about their different organizations. I enjoy finding the ‘dots’– needs or resources – that connect one business with another. It is one way of helping our community grow, by being a connector of sorts so different organizations’ needs can be met with the different resources available within the Torrance Chamber, among its members and greater community. Further, with each ambassador event, I can build and foster my relationship with other ambassadors. We have a fun and diverse group!” shared Gesuina Lafayette.

Looking forward to 2022, the Ambassadors look forward to a multitude of opportunities that include networking and involvement. “I would encourage chamber members to become an ambassador, because it gives you many more opportunities to meet other small businesses and community members in your area. Not only are you able to expand your network and forge new relationships, but you get to be a part of the business community that both supports and uplifts one another. It’s a small investment in time for a rewarding program,” commented Gina Lee.
