Brandon Maloney, Branch Manager at Farmers & Merchants Bank, and Ian Walter, General Manager of The Brews Hall – Del Amo, named 2025 Co-Chairs of the Emerging Leaders program.

A new opportunity is taking shape for early-career professionals in the Torrance business community. Emerging Leaders, a monthly program from the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, is designed for Chamber members ages 21 to 40, whether they are entry-level employees, team leads, or managers, offering a platform to build leadership skills, grow professional networks, and engage with others across industries.

Helping shape the direction of this new initiative are co-chairs Brandon Maloney of Farmers & Merchants Bank and Ian Walter of The Brews Hall – Del Amo, who each bring valuable perspective to the program’s purpose and potential.

“Having a dedicated program for Chamber members aged 21–40 is vital for fostering leadership skills, networking opportunities, and engagement among younger professionals, helping to shape the future of the community. Participants can expect mentorship, professional development, and a platform to voice their ideas, enhancing their impact within the Chamber and beyond,” said Maloney.

Walter added, “I live and work in Torrance, so being asked to Co-Chair the Emerging Leaders Program really meant a lot to me. When I first got started in hospitality, I had a hard time connecting with other professionals, and honestly, I wish I had found the Chamber much earlier. Groups like Emerging Leaders make it easier (and way less intimidating) to meet people, build relationships, and get involved beyond your day-to-day.”

The program officially launches with an After-Hours Mixer on Tuesday, August 6th, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at The Brews Hall – Del Amo, located at 21770 Del Amo Circle E, Torrance, CA 90503. The event will offer a casual environment to connect with peers, learn more about the program, and begin building relationships.
