The Torrance Area Chamber partnered with the City of Torrance and Heal the Bay to celebrate Los Angeles’ 35th Coastal Cleanup Day. An International day of action to protect our oceans, watersheds, and wildlife from trash and plastic pollution, there were more than 60+ cleanup sites throughout the county. Leslie Cortez, City of Torrance, coordinated this year’s event at Torrance Beach.
In 2023, more than 7,000 volunteers removed over 16,000 pounds of trash and 400 pounds of recycling from 97 miles of beach, river, underwater and trail cleanup sites.
