As I opened the front door to Nothing Bundt Cake, it smelled as if I was walking into my grandma’s house when she was baking the variety of holiday cookies she prepared each year. There was an amazing aroma of butter, sugar, and spices.
Greeted by Martin Rocha, he invited me into the kitchen to see where the supplies were kept and the bundt cakes were made. As we walked through a corridor of large bags of flour, sugar, and other baking supplies, I could see in the short distance a production line for the bundt cakes. Walking deeper into the kitchen, I noticed the large ovens and freezer.
As the tour took place, I noticed camaraderie and respect between Martin and the team of employees who were working. “There are two important things in running a business, the first is checks and balances and the other is you must be good to your employees,” commented Martin.
