Visiting businesses is an aspect of my job that I thoroughly enjoy. And, when a visit incorporates something that I personally like, it makes it even more special. My husband and I rescued a chihuahua terrier mix 15 months ago, when he was just two months old. When the opportunity to visit Zoom Room Dog Training in Torrance was brought to my attention, I could not wait to go.
As I entered this large spacious location, I was welcomed by Sarah Sung, owner. Sung’s passion clearly showed as she began walking me through the various parts of Zoom Room. To the right of the 2,000 square foot gym is an area that owners can purchase quality items for their dogs. There were colorful sustainable and durable puzzles, collars and leashes, and a variety of healthful treats.
The philosophy of Zoom Room is that well-trained and well-socialized dogs are happier, healthier and lead better lives than untrained ones, so they have worked hard to create a system of positive dog training that is effective and easy for all to master. That is why Zoom Room is a safe and exhilarating space where you can learn and socialize alongside your dog or puppy.
Sung purchased the franchise in June of 2021. “I have always been enthusiastic about being involved with the community. Working at Zoom Room is a people’s job with a focus on the dog owner,” stated Sung.
At Zoom Room, they do not train dogs. They train the people who love them. They have redefined dog training, with classes specially designed to build confidence and success as dogs master skills in a simple, step-by-step process.
“At Zoom Room we practice only Positive Reward or Positive Reinforcement dog training. Positive training means rewarding your dog or puppy when she does what you want her to do. And a wonderful feature of positive reward training is that it is extremely easy once you learn how. Every member of your household can take part,” commented Sung.
The dog training journey always begins with an orientation or evaluation and is followed by several options. “Zoom Room offers group classes, private dog training, puppy training, obedience training, agility training, enrichment classes and workshops and AKC testing,” explained Sung.
As my tour ended, I was truly inspired by Sung’s enthusiasm and commitment. The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a grand opening ribbon cutting celebration for Zoom Room on August 10th at 3:00 p.m. All chamber members are invited to attend this 3:00 p.m. ceremony.
