Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 8:00 AM—the 7th Annual 5K for Freedom is your chance to honor service, celebrate community, and start Armed Forces Day with purpose.
“This event is such a fun morning and offers something for everyone,” said Jac Folkert, Area Director, Market Development & Community Engagement, UCLA Health. “Bring your friends and family and come join us for a healthy, community-focused activity.”
Held in tribute to Louis Zamperini, this year’s 5K will recognize the United States Army on its 250th anniversary. The event begins at the Del Amo Fashion Center (Madrona Avenue entrance between Carson Street and Fashion Way) and features the unforgettable Freedom Run, where active-duty service members run in formation through the scenic streets of Torrance.
After crossing the finish line, participants can enjoy a lively expo with exhibitor booths, giveaways, and a delicious stack of free pancakes.
A special thank you to the sponsors of this event: Presenting Sponsor UCLA Health; Gold Sponsors FastSigns and Epirus; and Silver Sponsors California Water Services, Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Miyako Hybrid Hotel, Moog, Inc., Torrance Refining Company, and Virco Manufacturing Corporation. Appreciation is also extended to Village Runner for their partnership in this event.
