Torrance and the South Bay offer an incredible environment to live, work, and grow. But, how well do you truly know the heartbeat of your community? Leadership Torrance opens the door to exploring the inner workings of local business, government, and civic life, all while learning from influential leaders who shape our communities.
“The 2026 Leadership Torrance cohort is all about diving in – headfirst. Our goal is to cultivate a connected, informed, and inspired network of leaders who will shape Torrance’s future by giving them rare, behind-the-scenes access to the businesses, civic organizations, and community leaders that make our city thrive,” stated Neera Chanani, Leadership Torrance Director.
Presented by the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, this immersive, six-month program is designed to develop effective, connected leaders ready to make a positive impact. From January to July, participants engage in monthly full-day, on-site activities, gaining firsthand insights and fostering valuable relationships.
“One of the ways Leadership Torrance fosters leadership skills is by putting participants directly into real-world environments. Instead of just hearing about leadership, participants see it in action – touring key organizations, meeting key decision makers, and learning how leadership looks across different industries,” explained Rafael Renderos, Leadership Torrance co-director.

“Leadership Torrance participants learn about the different opportunities and challenges when conducting businesses in Torrance and the South Bay. They have an opportunity to work together to brainstorm solutions to challenges. As a result, participants can bring new and innovative ideas back to their businesses and work to develop a stronger and more successful workplace,” commented Kimberly Caballero, Leadership Torrance co-director.
