Leadership Torrance (LT) is a program focused on developing effective leaders from across the South Bay. LT was envisioned as a way to create visibility for emerging leaders with the mission of developing effective leaders by encouraging community connections through partnerships with City officials and local businesses. Sponsored by the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, it provides opportunities for emerging leaders to take an active role towards building a stronger community.

Getting to Know Steve MacAller…
Steve joined the Torrance South Bay YMCA staff team in January, 2016 as Executive Director. Prior to that, Steve was Executive Director at the Weingart YMCA Wellness and Aquatics Center in South Los Angeles, the Independent Health Family Branch YMCA in Buffalo, NY, and the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA in Rochester, NY. Steve’s executive tenure spans over 11 years. After 25 years back east, Steve, his wife, Beth, and their daughters Annie (18) and Sophie (13) are thrilled to be back in California and enjoying living in Rancho Palos Verdes. Steve is an active member of the Torrance Del Amo Rotary club, and the Torrance and Redondo Beach Chambers of Commerce. He was a dynamic addition to the 2017 Leadership Torrance cohort, and is looking forward to bringing his energy and exemplary leadership skills to the 2018 class.
Getting to Know Tracy Maestro…
Tracy is Superintendent for California Water Service Company, the third largest publicly traded water utility in the United States. She has been with California Water Service for nearly 18 years serving in supervisorial roles in customer service and oversight. A Torrance native, Tracy has three sons; two of which are currently in TUSD elementary school, and one 22-year-old. Tracy truly embraces all that Leadership Torrance has done for her personally and professionally, stating “My absolute favorite thing was getting re-connected to the city. Seeing what makes it tick and meeting all the people that make our city so wonderful! The “behind the scenes” things that can be taken for granted, I think is so important for residents and businesses to see.” When asked what she is most looking forward to about co-directing the 2018 program, she responded that she “look[s] forward to sharing this with our new group and hope that we can do as excellent a job as our directors last year. Just the chance to do it all over again is so exciting!”
