Metro is moving forward with key transportation projects in the South Bay, including survey work for the C Line Extension to Torrance and pre-construction activities for the I-105 ExpressLanes Project. These efforts will help improve regional transit and traffic flow.
Survey work for the C Line Extension to Torrance is set to begin next week after previous rain delays. Crews will be active during daytime hours along Metro-owned property from Redondo Beach (Marine) Station to the Torrance Transit Center, passing through Lawndale and Redondo Beach. Work will include surveying, drone photography, and track inspections, but will not take place in private or fenced areas. This effort is essential for refining project plans and finalizing the Environmental Impact Report (EIR), expected in 2025. Meanwhile, pre-construction work for the I-105 ExpressLanes Project has been underway since early January between Sepulveda Boulevard and Central Avenue and will continue for about three months. Upcoming activities include work on the westbound Crenshaw Boulevard on-ramp and eastbound 120th/Crenshaw Boulevard off-ramp, which will require late-night closures. More details are available in the construction notice or on the Metro ExpressLanes website.
