The Torrance Chamber launched the first of a three-part series on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) yesterday. Attended by forty-nine members virtually, Farzana Nayani, keynote speaker, provided information on the importance of DEI with business. She spoke of, and provided details, on the impact of the current times, connected to the public and community, engaging and supporting employees and maximizing productivity of business.
Nayani also addressed the topic of ‘company vision’ and gave specific details around the toping of what is the overarching goal a business would like to obtain regarding DEI. She gave examples of creating community impact, attracting, and retaining top talent, building a better product, and creating a better work environment.
Barbara Graham, Torrance Refining Company, provided leadership in the implementation of yesterday’s event.
