Ernest Huertas, director at My Gym
As I stepped foot into My Gym, I thought, “Oh, what it would be like to be young again.” The 10, two-year-olds who filled the location, were all very active. A few children played with blocks while other tossed colorful balls into a turtle shaped pool. The adventurous children were going up and down on a slide or throwing a basketball in a hoop.
My Gym, located at 3511 PCH, Torrance is owned by Wai Sallas. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ernest Huertas, director, on my visit. My gym offers fit and fun classes for 11 different age groups of children, birthday parties, gymnastics classes and much more.
Children have fun as they gain strength, balance, coordination, agility and flexibility while developing social skills, confidence and self-esteem. This state-of-the-art facility, has extensively trained staff, award-winning class programs, and an excellent student/teacher ratio. My Gym has earned the reputation as the best early learning program of its kind.
As I watched the session that was taking place for two-year-olds, there was lively music playing in the background which the children were moving to, there were many encouraging words said to the children from the My Gym staff and there were fun exercises in which the children participated.
My Gym programs focus on growth in three categories because each step of development in these areas is an essential “building block” toward becoming a happy, healthy, well-adjusted human being. This program is designed to acknowledge My Gym Kids for their efforts and achievements. It is an interactive skill and development tracking and recognition system that provides specific opportunities for students, teachers, and parents to enjoy and celebrate the attainment of key milestones together.
“I gain so much inspiration from the people associated with My Gym every day. No day is ever the same. You never know what a little kid is going to do or say from one minute to the next. The people associated with our location are like one big family. Everyone is so happy,” explained Ernest.
