As I entered Del Amo Fashion Center, Sheena Tahilramani, Founder, Banter and Bliss Candle Company greeted me. Walking through the mall, I became inspired by the positive welcome Sheena provided. As we entered her store, I noticed the assorted items she had displayed, as well as the area in which candle making is taught. The one item that caught my eye was a beautifully decorated swing with a backdrop in which customers can take photos.
Banter and Bliss Candle Company, founded in 2014, provides customers with the opportunity to shop for an assortment of items as well as the opportunity to make candles. The store is full of merchandise from a collaboration of small businesses and crafters. Meticulously organized on shelves and tables, customers can find plated jewelry, home décor, body oils, sugar scrubs, crystals, gemstones, charcuterie boards, and more.

Banter and Bliss also offers high-quality custom candles in a variety of exceptionally fragrant scents. Services include bachelor/bachelorette parties, on location make and take candle favors, custom wedding scent designed by the wedding couple, wedding showers and bridesmaid candle making parties.
Before starting Banter and Bliss Candle Co., Sheena worked in Washington, DC, at The White House Office of Political Affairs and for a former Presidential adviser. She earned her B.A. at University of California, Irvine and received an M.S. in Journalism from The Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University. She was named to OC Metro magazine’s annual “Forty Under 40” list in 2013 and recently completed the Tory Burch Foundation Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program for female-owned businesses.
