The Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE), the premier organization for education and professional development for chamber executives and staff, recognizes chambers each year during its annual winter conference. During this year’s conference in San Francisco, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) was bestowed with three awards.

The TACC’s weekly column titled Out and About with President & CEO Donna Duperron captured the 2015 Core Competency Program of the Year award. Out and About, which is included in the TACC’s Chamber Weekly email newsletter and posted on TorranceChamber.com, follows President & CEO Donna Duperron as she visits the many Torrance area businesses that are members with the TACC. She shares the great information she learns from these businesses in an effort to drive awareness about the many different products, services, food, and entertainment options that Torrance has to offer, as well as to continually discover the ever-developing needs of the local business community.

Additionally, the TACC’s e-newsletters Chamber Weekly and The Advocate were honored by the WACE for outstanding achievement and both took home first place honors. Chamber Weekly is a weekly newsletter focusing on news, events, and opportunities for TACC members and the Torrance area community; it also informs readers of important laws and political news as they relate to business. The Advocate is a monthly newsletter delivered at the end of each month which dispenses that month’s developments in business advocacy—an essential part of the TACC’s functions.

The TACC is a local organization with over 100 years of experience in developing innovative pathways for business and the local economy to flourish. It gains the above recognition out of the pool of 850 chamber professionals in 17 western states and Canada that comprise the WACE. The TACC is honored to continue its tradition of delivering quality service and support for the Torrance area.
