Torrance Chamber Hosts Dynamic Leadership Conference

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce had the distinct privilege of hosting 80 chamber executives and board members for a Leadership Conference this past Friday. The executives traveled from as far away as Oceanside to listen to keynote speaker, Dave Kilby, California Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

“Attending the conference I was able to relate and learn from many of Kilby’s points as both a Chamber Board Member and a small business owner. Topics such as, ‘Do we have the right people on the bus’ and ‘What is our elevator speech’ prompted me to think about ways to improve my bakery and to be a better board member,” stated Kirk Rossberg, owner, Torrance Bakery.

At this time, I would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the following Board members, restaurants and individuals who generously provided to this conference; for without their kindness it would have not been the success it was.

Lisa’s Bon Appetit, PBF Energy, Torrance Bakery, Starbucks, Sizzler, The Depot, Gaetano’s, Coco’s Bakery & Restaurant, Torrance Today, Green Hills Memorial, Metropolitan Water District, Pelican Products, Doubletree by Hilton Torrance-South Bay, Centaurus Financial, Inc., Providence Little Company of Mary-Torrance, UCLA Health, Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Sam’s Club, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.,  Arconic Fastening Systems and Rings, South Bay Yellow Cab, Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Parker, Milliken, Clark, O’Hara and Samuelian APC and Adecco.

“By hosting this informative and worthwhile event, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce has reinforced its position as a leader within the region’s chamber community,” exclaimed Laurie Brandt, owner, Red Car Brewery & Restaurant.
