Torrance Leadership Meets with Legislators in Sacramento
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce has traveled to Sacramento for many a year to attend the Capitol Summit and Sacramento Host Breakfast.
For the past three days, Chairman of the Board, Jonathan Beutler, Vice Chair Government Affairs, Rob Van Lingen and President and CEO, Donna Duperron have met with legislators and staff members to stress issues that are important to Torrance Chamber members.
Issues discussed with Senator Ben Allen and Assembly member Al Muratsuchi included; parental leave, Torrance Refinery Company, Southern California Regional Occupation Center, single-payer health care system, polystyrene foam food containers, Los Angeles Air Force Base and immigration.
Yesterday Beutler, Van Lingen and Duperron attended the Capitol Summit hosted by the California Chamber of Commerce. Summit speakers addressed health care, housing, immigration, international trade and regulations.
