Torrance Mayor George Chen will deliver the 2025 State of the City Address on Friday, September 12, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Torrance – South Bay. The annual event, hosted by the Chamber, will provide a look at the city’s priorities, projects, and future direction.

“The mayor is very good at breaking down the city’s achievements in a measured way while also showing where improvement is needed,” said Mike Cirona, general manager of Scott Robinson Automotive Group. “He will provide updates on ongoing and upcoming projects that impact businesses in Torrance.”

The State of the City is also one of the Chamber’s most attended events, offering a chance to connect with business leaders, city officials, and public safety leadership. “Networking is fantastic,” Cirona said. “It’s a great opportunity to interact with city officials as well as leaders from Torrance police and fire.”

The program will include recognition of the 2025 Citizen of the Year, Jack Walser.

Appreciation is extended to the sponsors of this event: Presenting Sponsor, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.; Patron Sponsors, California Water Services, Continental Development Corporation, Rose Equities, and Torrance Refining Company; Distinguished Sponsors, Optimum Seismic, Prologis, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, Southern California Edison, and UCLA Health; and Supporting Sponsors, Alpha Real Estate Group – Epique Realty, Athens Services, Bluestem Hotel, Dignity Health Sports Park, DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance – South Bay, El Camino College, Malaga Bank, Redondo Van & Storage, South Bay Association of Realtors, South Bay Workforce Investment Board, Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Vista Community Clinic, Virco Manufacturing Corporation, and Water Replenishment District.
