Torrance Area Chamber Responds to Members’ Requests

One of the areas that I treasure most about my profession is the opportunity provided to visit businesses in our community. I have the ability to see first-hand the incredible manufacturing that is produced, to view the wonderful restaurant and hospitality industry, and to observe the businesses that provide products and services.

In visiting businesses, I also have the opportunity to speak to CEO’s, owners and staff about issues that face their business. Over the past year, one of the issues that have continually been brought to my attention is health care, specifically; affordability, access and quality of care.

In listening to these concerns, Craig Leach, President & CEO, Torrance Memorial Medical Center; Lesley Wille, Executive Director, Kaiser Permanente; Mary Kingston, Chief Executive, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers, San Pedro and Torrance; and Jac Folkert, Area Director, Marketing and Community Outreach, UCLA Health met to discuss ways in which they may be able to provide answers or direct the concerns businesses have involving health care.

The chamber will host “Breakfast with South Bay’s Health Care Leaders” on December 6, 2017 which will focus on affordability, accessibility and quality of care relating to the health care industry.  The event will be held at the Doubletree by Hilton Torrance-South Bay beginning at 7:30 a.m. registration and 8:00 a.m. program.

Leach, Wille and Kingston will be joined by Santiago Munoz, Chief Strategy Officer, UCLA Health, in a panel discussion which will be largely based on questions provided, in advance, from chamber members.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this informative event with the leaders from the health care industry.
