Since 2010, Small Business Saturday has become a nationwide tradition, taking place on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce has extended the excitement with our very own “Torrance Small Business Week”, and we want you to be involved! This year’s Small Business Week starts on Saturday, November 29th and ends on Saturday, December 6th. Shopping small helps make a big difference to the community, small businesses, and the people who keep them running.
“Shopping local creates a powerful ripple effect: your purchase doesn’t just support a business, it strengthens the entire community by funding local reinvestment, fueling civic engagement, and building the resilience needed to face any challenge.”
— Julia Parton, Co-chair, Small Business Advisory Council
One of the primary goals of Small Business Week is to emphasize the vital role small businesses play in Torrance’s economy. These companies create jobs, foster innovation, and contribute to the unique character of the city. Supporting them is crucial not only for the businesses themselves but for the entire community.
Torrance’s small businesses have faced their fair share of challenges in recent years, and Small Business Week offers a chance to revitalize and strengthen the local economy during the crucial holiday shopping season.
“Supporting small business goes beyond shopping local. When you support small businesses, you are directly investing in our community through job creation and economic resilience.”
— Ryan Halvorsen, Co-chair, Small Business Advisory Council
During Small Business Week, residents are encouraged to shop locally and take advantage of special discounts and promotions offered by participating businesses. By doing so, the community can directly contribute to the success of locally owned businesses.
