Virco Manufacturing Corporation, headquartered in Torrance is America’s leading manufacturer and supplier of furniture and equipment for K-12 schools. Since 1950, Virco has proudly embodied the values of American manufacturing, innovation, sustainability, and community partnership – making it a cornerstone of the South Bay business community.
This Friday, Virco will be recognized as the Large Manufacture of the Year at the South Bay Association of Chambers of Commerce Business Awards and Installation. The event will be held at the Hotel Maya in Long Beach.
From its beginnings as a small supplier for Los Angeles-area schools, Virco has grown into a nationally respected company employing over 700 people across the United States. Its 560,000-square-foot Torrance headquarters and 1.75 million-square-foot Conway, Arkansas facility house cutting-edge manufacturing and distribution operations that ensure high-quality, American-made products reach schools and institutions quickly and efficiently.
Just as importantly, Virco invests in workforce development and community engagement. Through its Apprenticeship Program with El Camino College, students gain hands-on manufacturing experience and mentorship, building skills that lead to lasting careers. Virco also partners with the Torrance Area Chamber Foundation, hosting facility tours and employee speakers who share their professional journeys to inspire the next generation of local talent.
